What are the different levels of involvement?
Associate partners (level 1) are called IMAGE partners from organisations of EU member countries without voluntary character. They are given full rights within the IMAGE project. Collaborating partners (level 2) are called IMAGE partners either from organisations with voluntary character and/or from countries without EU member status. They have got full rights within the IMAGE project. Corresponding partners (level 3) were affiliated after the closing of the project application. They only have got counselling status.

Who is the co-ordinator of IMAGE?
The IMAGE project is coordinated by the so called steering committee which is resembled of all seven work package leaders. The lead partner of the steering committee and the overall coordinator is the Technical University of Dresden (Dr. Peter Schwarz).

How many work packages does IMAGE comprise?
IMAGE has got four objectives which will be addressed by seven work packages.

What are the main tasks of each work package?
Work package 1: to manage and coordinate the IMAGE activities
Work package 2: to disseminate and communicate the progress and results of the IMAGE project internally and externally
Work package 3: to continuously evaluate and monitor the project on an ongoing basis and to solve arising problems
Work package 4: to develop European practice-oriented guidelines for the prevention of type 2 diabetes with focus on- Strategies for identifying high-risk individuals
- Recommendations for efficient lifestyle intervention
- Recommendations for pharmacologic intervention of type 2 diabetes
Work package 5: to develop a European curriculum for prevention managers integrating five key topics- Nutrition
- Physical activity
- Strategies against obesity
- Children and adolescents
- General prevention management and certification
Work package 6: to develop standards for continuous quality control and to introduce a system of European-wide evaluation for primary prevention programmes
Work package 7: the development of an e-health training portal for the training of prevention managers

Is there a limit for work package assignments?
Each partner can assign to a maximum of two work packages.

How to become a partner?
You can apply for membership at the coordinator of the IMAGE project. The approval will mainly depend on the extent to which your expertise is needed for the IMAGE project. In case of approval, you will receive the status of a corresponding partner. This means that you will be authorized to enter the IMAGE intranet where you can actively participate at work package discussions. You are also welcome to attend the regular held IMAGE meetings on your own costs.

How can I register for the Newsletter?
Click on the button “IMAGE Newsletter” in the right lower corner of the main menu of the IMAGE website. A registration page will open. When you have completed the mandatory fields, click on send and your data will be transferred to the IMAGE coordinating team. You are now registered and will receive the regular IMAGE newsletter with the latest activities.
