Roles and responsibilities of Work Package 5

Work Package 5 (WP5) is responsible for the development of a European curriculum for training prevention managers (PM).

To achieve this, eight working groups have been established:

Working group 1

is dealing with existing scientific evidence

Working group 2

is focusing on behavioural aspects and motivation for achieving lifestyle changes

Working group 3

is focusing on aspects relating to nutritional training

Working group 4

is focusing on aspects relating to training on physical activity

Working group 5

is focusing on training aspects for PMs for children & adolescents

Working group 6

is focusing on management aspects of intervention programmes

Working group 7

is defining evaluation strategies

Working group 8

is focusing on aspects relating to teaching and educational training

Following its development, the proposed curriculum will be internally and externally reviewed before being tested in a pilot study of acceptance and practicability by a selected number of medical professionals in Europe.

The training tools will be designed for maximum flexibility and adaptability to be relevant to the daily practice of whichever setting the prevention manager may be working in. The system of learning is based on a modules design principle enabling the participant to use any individual or combination of modules depending on his / her professional background. On completion, participants will be examined and receive a certification.
